Visualizing the Amish God as evil – as something I never wanted to associate with, was helpful in my transition from a questioner to a full-blown atheist.
Here is an appropriate little graphic that I put together from a variety of images I found online.

Hello, I am a former Amish, and while I am not an Atheist, I do know a lot of former Amish, you may be interested in the guy that wrote the book, “Growing up Amish and Gay in America”. You can add me on fb if you like. http://www.fb.com/mrdeleted
Thanks for the info wallywoods. I will definitely check out that guy’s book.
There is no eternal torment, torture. The scriptures does not support that concept. The wages of sin is death NOT eternal torment. Yes you pay the wages of sin, then you die. Period. Why do you think he calls it the second death? We don’t torture our worse criminals for the rest of their lives, we impose the death pentaly, do you think God wouldn’t do the same? There is no one in hell right now. How could they be punished in hell when they have not been judged yet? We don’t punish our criminal until they are brought to trial and judged guilty, you think God would not do the same? Until the criminals trial and judgement they are held in prison, well human are held in sleep until the Resurrection when they will be judged, that does not happen until the very end times. Until then all people who die just sleep. No heaven, no hell. Besides we were never promised heaven as a place to live anyway, we were promised earth. The meek shall inherit the earth not heaven.
